Todd Young, VP, Customer Services, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft & OAC Chairman

After graduating from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering in 1986, Todd Young joined Bombardier Aerospace as a Designer of Airframe Structures, designing fuselage components for the Dash 8 Series 100 and 300 aircraft. By 1996, Mr. Young was the Chief of Airframe Structures and System Installation. His duties included technical responsibility for the design and installation of the rear fuselage structure and system for the Global Express aircraft. He managed 137 engineers and designers and participated in contract negotiations. He also received his Professional Engineer’s License that year.

From 1998 to 1999, Mr. Young was the Director of Program Management for Product Development on the Dash 8 400 Series and the Global Express. In 1999, he became the Director of Methods for the Toronto site. His accomplishments included: leading Six Sigma initiatives which resulted in cost reductions and product improvements; validating system functionality prior to flight; and managing 450 Methods employees.

Mr. Young became the Vice President of Operations in 2001 and accepted additional responsibilities as the Toronto site leader in 2003. In May 2004, he became Vice President and General Manager, Turboprops, Regional Aircraft. Then in the spring of 2006, Mr. Young accepted a new challenge. As Vice-President, Aircraft Programs and Planning, he was responsible for overseeing the Program Management function for all Bombardier Regional Aircraft, including the Q-Series Turboprops and the CRJ Regional Jets.

Mr. Young became the Vice President, Customer Support in late 2006. This role was broadened in 2008, as he became the Vice President, Customer Services and Support for Commercial Aircraft. He now leads a team of over 600 Service Individuals who support the Commercial Aircraft fleet throughout the world. The key focus is to provide our customers an Amazing Customer Experience and assist them in maximizing the benefits of operating a Bombardier aircraft.

Mr. Young became the Vice President, Customer Services on January 1st, 2015, then became the Vice President & General Manager of Customer Services on July 1st, 2015. He is responsible for the entire aftermarket business for Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. His team of just over 2000 Service individuals, manage the Support, Sales, Parts, Maintenance and Training businesses for over 2700 aircraft flying every day globally at our customers airlines.
