Demystifying CMMC & Cybersecurity Supply Chain Readiness

Thursday, Jul 9, 2020 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM ADT
Join ACADA and partners for a discussion on CMMC and what you need to know to prepare your business for this new cybersecurity standard.

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is a US Department of Defense (DoD) standard that was launched in early 2020 to safeguard the defense industrial base (DIB) and protection of sensitive defense data through the implementation of mandatory cybersecurity requirements.

What does this mean for DoD contractors and their supply chains? Starting this Fall, CMMC requirements will become mandatory in all DoD contracts. All prime contractors (and their supply chains) will need to be CMMC compliant to the level required by the contract (Levels 1-5) and demonstrate their cybersecurity maturity in their processes and practices against these standards through a third-party assessment.

Demystifying CMMC

Dr. Jack McCready, CEO/CTO of JWM Consulting, will provide an overview of CMMC and speak to how this national standard is affecting Cybersecurity for the US Department of Defense and others.

The Canadian Cybersecurity Certification Program & Alignment to International Frameworks

Brendan Dunphy, Director of Trust & Compliance at CyberNB, will provide an overview of CyberSecure Canada - a federal cyber certification program that aims to raise the cyber security baseline among small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Canada and how this standard aligns with other International frameworks such as CMMC and NIST 800-171.
