In 2004 two researchers at The University of Manchester, Professor Andre Geim and Professor Kostya Novoselov won the Nobel Prize in Physics for their pioneering work discovering graphene. Although scientists knew one atom thick, two-dimensional crystal graphene existed, no-one had worked out how to extract it from graphite. On the 26th of February, we will have Dr. Nic Gowland from the University of Manchester give us an overview of the seemingly limitless possibilities of graphene.
