The Doing MRO in Canada Conference is an event organized by Ontario Aerospace Council (OAC) in collaboration with Aero Montreal, AIAC Pacific, Atlantic Canada Aerospace & Defence Association and Manitoba Aerospace.

We are proud to present the second edition of this event focused on the Canadian aerospace MRO Sector with a goal of developing a dialogue to collaborate on strategic issues facing the sector. Come hear from Airlines, Operators, OEMs, and MRO Specialists from across Canada as we explore the challenges, key opportunities and new trends in this market: MRO 4.0 & Technologies of Choice, Impact of Shortage in Skilled Workforce, Cyber Risks, New Training Needs, Opportunities from Canadian procurement programs & ITBs, Impact of NextGen aircrafts, How to meet Customer Expectations, Opportunities here in Canada & Abroad, and more.

Julie Mailhot
Chief Operating Officer - Air Georgian

Ms. Mailhot oversees all aspects of Air Georgian’s operations including flight operations, maintenance, inflight, SOC, customer service, safety, security and reliability. In this function, she was pivotal in leading different major company projects for IT and CRE for the new wide-body hangar at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and the Hot Site for OC. Prior to this role, she served as Director of International Operations and Customer Service where she ultimately oversaw and supported 71 international stations and call centres, as well as all aspects of customer relations. Maze Hobeyn
Director, Component Services - Jazz Aviation LP

Maze Hobeyn has been with Jazz Aviation LP since 1990 and is the Director, Component Services responsible for the Component Shops and GSE. He is a licensed AME, certified GE Six Sigma Black Belt, and also the Chairperson for the RAA Maintenance Committee. His career in Aviation began over 30 years ago in Vancouver, where in 1987, he graduated from the BCIT Aircraft Maintenance program.


Boyd Parsons
General Manager, Excellence 5.0 - Air Canada

An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer focused on current and future workforce learning and development. Boyd has studied Operations Excellence at MIT and Adult Education at STFX. Boyd introduced and leads the Air Canada Multi-Disciplinary Technician program and was once responsible for Training at an approved Transport Canada Avionics College Program. He is currently a leader of Air Canada’s Operation’s transformation and strategic initiatives focusing on the engagement of people, development of core competencies and moving to best practices for optimum Customer Experience.

   

Kal Rebin
Vice President Maintenance and Engineering - Jazz Aviation LP

A proven and regarded business professional, with over 30 years of aviation experience, in both passenger and cargo operations. Safety, Quality and Reliability are his primary objectives. As Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering and a member of the Jazz Executive team, Kal leads Jazz’s award-winning team operating a fleet of 115 aircraft flying over 700 flights per day. His team also provides both heavy MRO and component repair services for other airlines.

 

Lorenzo Marandola
President - M1 Composites Technology

Mr. Marandola founded M1 to serve the international aircraft and composites community. With over 25 years of experience, he is a former Director of Business & Technology Development at L-3 Canada, and has held key positions in Engineering at Bombardier Aerospace and Service Investigator at Pratt & Whitney Canada.

A winner of the Regional Quebec Entrepreneurship Program in 2013 and the Dunamis Award for Best New Business in 2014, Lorenzo is a graduate of Concordia University with a degree in mechanical engineering and holds a Project Management Institute certification.
   

Phil D'Eon
Chief Strategy Officer - ATP & CaseBank Technologies


Phil is a co-founder of CaseBank and the originator of its SpotLight® product concept. He continues to guide the innovation of CaseBank’s hybrid reasoning technology and pioneers new applications of the technology. His thirty-five years of aerospace experience includes eight years of hands-on aircraft maintenance, twenty years of technology innovation and development, and twenty-seven years of executive management.

   

Tom Gretton
Managing Director - Blue Skies Aviation Solutions Inc.


Tom spent 32 years with Transport Canada as an Aircraft Certification Engineer in the Ontario Region. During this time, he participated in a wide range of certification activities including equipment approvals, avionics installations, aircraft interiors, engine changes, repairs, aircraft conversions, and foreign validation projects. Since leaving Transport Canada, Tom is now helping companies navigate the design approval process.

   

Arif Virani
Chief Operating Officer -

Mr. Virani is COO at DarwinAI, a software company that is changing the way that developers design, optimize and monitor AI applications. He is responsible for shaping the company’s go-to-market strategy and product roadmap, as well as business operations. Arif started his career as a Software Developer, and then transitioned to McKinsey and Company where he was a leader in the Business Technology practice. He has helped Fortune 500 companies plan technology investments, enter new verticals, and implement large-scale initiatives. He co-founded an advanced analytics solution for sales and CRM data within McKinsey’s New Ventures division.
