Moira Harvey, Executive Director, Ontario Aerospace Council

Moira Harvey joined the Ontario Aerospace Council in November 2014 as Executive Director. She brings a strong background in marketing & communications with an entrepreneurial outlook. Prior to joining OAC, she held a senior position with Messier-Bugatti-Dowty for 10 years. Her extensive work experience in large corporations, SMEs and as a business owner – provides a well-rounded perspective from an operating standpoint as well as understanding the value offering required for the diverse group of companies that make up the OAC.

Moira has provided leadership in other aerospace initiatives, including Women in Aerospace – Canada, as part of the start up team and was elected Vice-President in 2012. She represented the OAC in the working groups that developed the Emerson Report and as a member of the industry team working with academia to develop their programs to meet industry needs. Her experience also includes working with government organizations at all levels (federal, provincial and municipal) to create valuable relationships and gain government support for industry.

Moira brings extensive international connections and sound perspectives on the global aerospace industry. In 2009, Moira was appointed to the Aviation Executive Board of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) in the US and chairs the Light Commercial & General Aviation Committee. The TRB is one of six major divisions of the National Research Council— a private, non profit institution that is the principal operating agency of the National Academies.
